Frequently Asked QuestionsWe've put together our most frequently asked questions to enable you to decide whether our courses and are fast-track approach are right for you.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact our Principal, Julie Foster or email us. Q. Is premium fast track training right for me? A. If you answer yes to the majority of the following then fast track is a good choice:-
Q. How long are the courses? A. Our courses range from just 1 day to 6 days in duration from (normally 10am to 5pm). You are given the course materials to study in advance of the practical training day so that you can study all of the educational material in advance. This means that on the day of training you will be able to focus mainly upon the practical aspects of the course. Q. Who is accrediting? A. we are accredited by ITEC and with ABT Association of Beauty Therapists. Your certificate can be replaced to include the additional organisational logos if you require. Q. What about insurance and professional memberships? A. Professional registration and 12 months insurance (through ABT andbacked by AXA) are included within the course price. Q. How easy is it to be registered as a self-employed therapist? A. This is very simple. The Inland Revenue offer help and guidance together with self-help booklets and online advice. Contact your local Inland Revenue for further information. Alternatively you can contact your local Business Link for advice on Business Start-Ups. Q. Can I get grants or other financial assistance? A. There are sometimes grants and assistance available for business start-ups and self-employed individuals. To get the latest information please contact your local Business Link for help and advice. Q. What are the career opportunities? A. Once you have completed a vocational course and become a qualified and insured practitioner you have several options to explore. You can become self-employed and run your own therapy practice from home or on a mobile basis.You can also rent space in a local salon, or seek employment within one of the already established health and beauty salons or spas in your area. Q. Can I charge clients whilst studying? A. No, but you may wish to ask your "models" and case study volunteers for a voluntary donation to cover the cost of any products. Q. How much can I charge for treatments once qualified? A. This depends on the treatment but generally you can look to charge between 30 and 60 GBP per hour, depending on location, for most holistic therapies. It is important to do your own competitive market research before deciding on your pricing strategy. Q. What if I need help with my home study? A. This is a fast-track course and a significant element of the theory required will be studied in non-classroom time. Support and advice is available from the Course Director by telephone and email. Q. What if I fail? A. You will be given additional free training, within reason, to support you through to a pass. Q. What help will you give me to start my business? A. Relevant, practical sales and marketing advice and tuition will be included within the syllabus. Q. What should I bring? A. Please bring writing material with you and ensure you have something to keep you warm for when you are not doing practical activities. Q. Where can I stay if I am travelling from a distance? A. We are in a lovely market town location and there is plenty of places locally to stay, here are a few examples but it may be advisable to look on the web to find something that suits your particular taste.
